HTC One M9 launched in South Africa

The HTC One M9 is now available to order from the Vodacom website, with a wider launch for the device coming in June 2015.

The One M9 is available on a range of Vodacom packages, HTC said, including Vodacom Smart S for R529 per month.

The HTC One M9 was first unveiled on 1 March 2015 at Mobile World Congress, with the Taiwanese electronics manufacturer later confirming that the device would launch on MTN and Vodacom from 1 June 2015.

In addition to a number of hardware improvements, the One M9 will also feature Sense 7 – an updated version of HTC’s software “skin” for Android.

Among the new features of Sense 7 are a number of photography-related additions:

  • A cloud gallery that pulls photos from various cloud storage sources, such as Google and Facebook
  • Image match search for your gallery to find all photos of a particular person
  • A new photo editor
