Ubuntu phones now available in South Africa

BQ has created an Ubuntu global store where people from around the world can buy an Aquaris Ubuntu Edition handset.
This follows the successful European launches of the BQ Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition and it’s slightly larger brother, the BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition.
“We’re really excited by this move and BQ’s clear commitment to ensuring more of our fans worldwide get their hands on these devices,” the company said.
MyBroadband tested the purchase of a BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition from South Africa, and the process completed without any problem.
We were promised the BQ Aquaris E5 HD Ubuntu Edition smartphone – which cost €199 – would be delivered within two weeks.
