iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus hit record sales

Apple announced on 28 September that it had sold more than 13 million iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models in the three days since the devices launched.

This is a new record, the company said.

The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available in more than 40 countries from 9 October. The new iPhones will be available in over 130 countries by the end of 2015.

South Africa was not on Apple’s release list for the next launch wave on 9 and 10 October.

Apple said sales completed by 26 September will be included in Apple’s 2015 fourth fiscal quarter results, and sales completed on 27 September will be included in Apple’s 2016 first fiscal quarter results.
