Apple iOS 9 Wi-Fi assist is blasting through your mobile data

Apple iPhone users who have upgraded to iOS 9 need to take care that the operating system’s new Wi-Fi assist feature is not eating through their mobile data bundles.
The new feature, which is enabled by default, switches an iPhone’s data connection from Wi-Fi to mobile when the Wi-Fi connection is patchy.
According to reports, this means users who are watching a video, for example, using Wi-Fi may find themselves unknowingly eating through mobile data if Wi-Fi assist intervenes due to a poor connection.
To turn off Wi-Fi assist, go to Settings > Cellular > Wi-Fi Assist (at the bottom of the menu), and disable it.
