WhatsApp upgrade brings a stack of new features

WhatsApp recently released an update for its app for Android (version 2.12.367).
In addition to bringing back Google Drive backup, the update introduces starred messages, link preview, and direct share.
You can now tap and hold on any message to “star” it, which will copy it to a separate section with other starred messages.
Any links sent to contacts or groups will also get rich previews, as pictured below.
Those on Android 6.0 Marshmallow will get support for the Direct Share feature, which means you can send something directly to a WhatsApp contact from the sharing menu.
The new version of WhatsApp for Android is available on the Google Play store, and from the WhatsApp website.
