iPhone to get OLED display: report
Nikkei Asian Review has reported that Apple is planning to use organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screens in its iPhone from 2018.
The publication said that Apple will use suppliers like LG to move from LED to OLED displays in its smartphones.
“LG is already planning to add a new line for OLED panel production at its manufacturing plant in Paju,” the report said.
TheStack highlighted that Apple is already using OLED technology in its Apple Watch.
“The company has since continued to research the new technology, looking at quality and cost benefits for its other devices,” the report said.
