Apple iStore prices going up because of weak rand

Apple iPhone 6S 2

iStore has sent a mail to customers informing them that due to the rand’s “dramatic depreciation” against the US dollar, prices of its products will increase.

The mail stated that the iStore “will give customers the full benefit of current pricing for as long as possible (while stocks last)”, but the rand’s weakness will lead to price hikes in January 2016.

The company said there are purchasing options available, like the iStore Card and trade-in deals, which will help customers afford their “favourite Apple products”.

“Please visit one of our stores and speak to an Apple expert for further advice or information,” said iStore CEO Andrew Mundell.
