Apple developing wireless chargers for iPhone and iPad: report

Apple is developing wireless charging technology for its iPhone and iPad, according to a report by Bloomberg.

The company is said to be working with multiple partners to build a system which can recharge devices from “further away than the charging mats used with current smartphones”.

This means the new iPad and iPhone chargers would not require near-contact to power a device, as is the case with the Apple Watch.

The biggest challenge Apple faces, according to the report, is trying to reduce power loss caused by the distance between the charging station and the device it is paired with.
