Huawei Mate 8 launched in South Africa
The Huawei Mate 8 has launched in South Africa and will be available from Vodacom from 8 April 2016.
It has a recommended retail price of R12,999 and will be available on contract from R579 on Vodacom, and R599 elsewhere.
The Mate 8 in SA will feature 32GB of internal storage, 3GB RAM, and come in both single SIM and dual-SIM variants.
It features a 6-inch 1080p display, and will run on the Huawei Kirin 950 chipset – which has four A72 2.3GHz processor cores, and four A53 1.8GHz cores.
The Mate 8 runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and Huawei’s EMUI 4.0, and includes the new i5 co-processor for speech recognition.
Huawei also promised power savings that will extend the battery life of the Mate 8.
