BlackBerry is committed to the BB10 platform

After announcing it would stop making the BlackBerry Classic, BlackBerry said the news was misinterpreted by many.

BlackBerry COO Marty Beard said BlackBerry is not backing away from BB10, follow reports and speculation on the subject.

“Our customers depend on the BB10 platform and they are the ones that drive our roadmap,” he said.

Beard said the next update of its operating system, version 10.3.3, will release within the next month and will be focussed on enhancing its privacy and security features.

“Future BB10 software updates for 2017 are already in the works.”

Beard said that although Android is part of BlackBerry’s device roadmap, it does not make the company less committed to its own platform.
