Samsung Galaxy Note 7 delayed in South Africa

Samsung South Africa has announced that the local launch of the Galaxy Note 7 has been delayed until 23 September 2016.

The device was set to launch in South Africa from 2 September.

“The overwhelming global demand for the Galaxy Note 7 resulted in a flood of orders,” said Craige Fleischer, director of integrated mobility at Samsung South Africa.

“Appropriation of the initial consignment has required us to relook the local availability date of the smartphone to ensure fulfillment of all early orders.”

Pre-orders will open on 9 September in South Africa.

Those who pre-order a Note 7 will receive an accessory kit, worth R1,299, which consists of:

  • Wireless charger
  • Clear soft phone cover
  • USB-C / USB adapter cable
  • Two screen protectors
