Samsung recently recalled its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones, and, according to KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, around half of former Note 7 owners will move to an iPhone 7.
Samsung permanently discontinued its Note 7 following multiple cases of the device bursting into flames.
Samsung said the decision was made for the sake of consumer safety.
It said production of the Note 7 has been ceased, which follows instructions from the company to Note 7 owners to stop using their devices.
According to Kuo, Apple and Huawei will be the biggest beneficiaries of Samsung’s decision to stop producing the Galaxy Note 7.
He predicts that approximately half of Note 7 owners are very likely to opt for an iPhone 7.
Softpedia said “between 5 to 7 million Note 7 orders are likely to transfer to Apple, and the iPhone 7 Plus is expected to be the main model benefiting from this transition”.
