Root user access on Google Pixel achieved
Developers have achieved superuser access on the Google Pixel and unlocked the bootloader of the Verizon model of the device, SlashGear reported.
Chainfire released a new version of the SuperSU application that will let you get root access on the Google Pixel.
To use Chainfire’s SuperSU release, the bootloader of your Google Pixel must be unlocked – which SlashGear said presented a problem for owners of the Verizon model.
That’s where Sunshine’s release of an application called dePixel8 comes in, which lets you unlock the bootloader of the Verizon model.
Chainfire warned that as this is their first release for getting root access on the Pixel, there will be bugs.
They could also not guarantee that over-the-air updates would continue to work.
