Samsung finds Galaxy Note 7 fires caused by battery – Report

Samsung’s investigation into what caused its Galaxy Note 7 smartphones to catch fire has found that the battery was the component at fault, according to a report by Reuters.
Reuters said a source revealed the status of the report, with the information due to be released to the public on 23 January.
The Galaxy Note 7 was subject to a worldwide recall following several of the devices catching fire and exploding in 2016.
“Investors and analysts say it is critical for Samsung to provide a convincing and detailed explanation about what went wrong with the Note 7 and how it will prevent such problems from recurring,” stated Reuters.
