BBM has identified South Africa and Nigeria as key growth markets for its mobile messenger, and is in South Africa to support a branch outreach it will launch in 2017.
“South Africa is an important market for BBM and we see massive growth potential in the country,” said Adam Pattison, VP at BBM for EMEA.
Pattison is in the country to attend a series of events aimed at increasing BBM’s profile and presence in SA.
“In 2017, we are making major investments in the South African business in order to address the needs of our 3 million monthly active users and to continue to grow the BBM community in South Africa,” he said.
“Our objective is to create utility for our users, essentially creating an ecosystem of relevant and localised content and services that are housed within our Discover Tab.”
BBM will also partner with content providers and other platforms to increase its offering to users.
