Why Samsung Bixby does not work in English yet

The launch of an English version of voice assistant Bixby is delayed as it does not have the required “big data” to make it work, The Korea Herald reported.

While Bixby is available in Korean, Samsung can’t train Bixby’s artificial intelligence to understand, and presumably speak, English.

Samsung told the Herald another reason for the delay is communication challenges between the engineers at Samsung Research America in California and the headquarters in Korea.

The Herald reported that US engineers are expected to submit frequent reports to management in Korea, but geographical and language barriers have slowed progress.
