The Firefox Focus browser for Android has been downloaded more than a million times in the month since its launch, Mozilla has announced.
Firefox Focus is a basic browser with a simple premise – privacy and nothing else. It is a single browser window with no tabs, and it prompts you to erase your browsing history when you leave the app.
“When we initially launched Firefox Focus for iOS last year, we did so based on our belief that everyone has a right to protect their privacy,” Mozilla said.
“We created the Firefox Focus for Android app to support all our mobile users and give them the control to manage their online browsing habits across platforms.”
In addition to celebrating its milestone, Mozilla also announced three new features for Firefox Focus:
- Full screen videos: YouTube is not currently supported yet. Mozilla said it is dependent on a bug fix from Google.
- Supports downloads: Files of all kinds are now supported.
- Updated notification actions: Previously only used for reminders to erase your history, notifications now feature a shortcut to open Firefox Focus.
