Huawei has passed Apple in smartphone sales for June and July 2017, according to Counterpoint Research.
Samsung retains its large lead over both Apple and Huawei as the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer, based on global smartphone sales.
The report noted that Huawei’s position could soon be overtaken, however, due to the imminent launch of the iPhone 8 and Huawei’s relatively weak presence in North America, South Asia, and India.
While Huawei’s total smartphone sales climbed above Apple’s, none of its smartphones appear in the top 10 smartphone models based on market share.
Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the most popular smartphones in the world, according to this metric.
