Samsung said it may launch a smartphone with a flexible display as early as next year, reported AP News.
Speaking at a conference, Samsung president Koh Dong-jin said many hurdles still stand in the way of creating a foldable smartphone – but the manufacturer aims to overcome them.
“I can say our current goal is next year. When we can overcome some problems for sure, we will launch the product,” he said.
Samsung created a flexible display prototype back in 2013, but integrating a flexible OLED display into a foldable smartphone presents a more difficult challenge.
