FNB unveils new ConeXis smartphones

FNB has revealed its new range of branded smartphones – the FNB ConeXis X2 and FNB ConeXis A2.

The bank unveiled its first branded smartphones, the ConeXis range, in August 2016. FNB clients could buy the phones at a discount, depending on their eBucks rewards level.

As with the previous phones, the new ConeXis smartphones will be available for free to FNB Connect clients on the highest eBucks rewards level.

The ConeXis X2 features Android 7 Nougat, LTE connectivity, a fingerprint reader, dual rear cameras, and a 5-inch HD IPS display.

The box for the ConeXis X2 also doubles as a VR headset, said FNB.

Pricing

Without discounts, the ConeXis X2 will be R199 per month – with the deal including 25 anytime minutes and 100MB of data.

The ConeXis A2 will be R69 per month without eBucks discounts, which includes 15 anytime minutes and 50MB of data.

FNB clients do not need credit approval to take up the deals, but must place a refundable deposit into a savings account.

The devices are SIM-locked to the FNB Connect network, and will be on sale from 2 October, said the bank. Once you’ve paid off the device, FNB will provide an unlock code to let you use it on any network.

FNB added that it has sold 487,000 smart devices as well as 75,000 ConeXis A1 and X1 smartphones to date.
