Android 8.1 beta launched
Google has launched the developer beta of Android 8.1 “Oreo”, which features its new Neural Networks API.
The API brings hardware-accelerated execution of machine learning models that have already been trained.
According to Google, the Neural Networks API was designed as a foundation layer for frameworks like TensorFlow Lite and Caffe2.
The Android 8.1 developer preview also updates Autofill, making it easier for password managers to use the framework.
While the Android 8.1 beta is available to developers, it won’t launch for users until December.
