Mobile technology company Mint Connect said its low-cost device, the Mint Fox, was the best-selling smartphone in South Africa for seven months in a row.
Mint Connect rebranded this year after it was formed in 2014 when Mint Electronics, a subsidiary of Sekoko Holdings, acquired 75% of CZ Electronics.
The company said it sold between 500,000 to 600,000 units of the Mint Fox between April 2016 and August 2017.
It was the best-selling smartphone in South Africa from February to August this year, added the company.
The Mint Fox is available from MTN and through several retail channel partners – including Ackermans, JET, Edgars, OK Furniture, and Dunns.
It currently sells for R400, which includes 100MB of free data per month for six months.
