Huawei Mate 20 Pro sees big sales in South Africa

Huawei has reported that the first week of local sales for the Mate 20 Pro exceeded the first week sales figures of its Huawei Mate 10 series by 280%.

Additionally, the Mate 20 Pro’s first-week sales have been 73% higher than those of the Huawei P20’s first week.

“Our first batch of Huawei Mate 20 Pro phones is almost sold out in SA. Another 14,500 devices have been ordered and will be available soon,” said Huawei Consumer Business SA GM Likun Zhao.

He added that Huawei is confident the Mate 20 Pro range will increase Huawei’s share in the South African smartphone market.

Huawei is the second-most popular smartphone brand in South Africa, and continues to grow in popularity due to its cost-effective products, said the company.
