With Black Friday nearly here, South Africans are looking for the best deals on top hardware — and the recently released Apple iPhone 15 stands out as a highly sought-after product.
Released in South Africa in September, the iPhone 15 is now stocked locally by almost every major retailer that sells high-end smartphones.
We researched the pricing of the four iPhone 15 models across South Africa’s most popular retailers to see which store offers the best pricing.
Here are our findings.
Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus
The Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus use the A16 Bionic CPU, and come with 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage.
Both models offer a 60Hz OLED display and feature impressive camera arrays.
Here are the prices we found for the 128GB versions of these two models.

|Shop and Ship||R21,899||R24,699|
Takealot offered the most affordable iPhone 15 smartphone, closely followed by Nedbank Avo SuperShop and MTN.
For the iPhone 15 Plus, Nedbank Avo SuperShop pipped Takealot, with Shop and Ship coming in at third place.
Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max
The Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max offer improved performance thanks to their A17 Pro chip.
They also boast better cameras and 120Hz displays.
Here are the prices we found for the 256GB versions of these two models.

Takealot offered the best price on the iPhone 15 Pro, followed by Shop and Ship, Nedbank Avo SuperShop, and Cellucity.
For the iPhone 15 Pro Max, Cellucity offered the best price — with Shop and Ship and Nedbank Avo SuperShop also offering superior pricing to the other retailers.
Cheapest iPhone retailers
The three retailers that stood apart across the different iPhone models were Takealot, Nedbank Avo SuperShop, and Shop and Ship.
We were particularly impressed with Nedbank Avo SuperShop featuring so highly because, unlike the other providers, selling technology is only a small part of what the app is designed for.
An additional benefit of shopping on Avo is that customers earn 1% back in AvoPoints, which can be used towards their next purchase on the platform – making the offering more attractive.
(Note: At the time of publication, we could only find prices for the Apple iPhone 15 base models on Vodacom and MTN, and they were only available on a contract deal from Telkom.)
