Sony Xperia Z Ultra launch details for SA

Sony’s monstrous new smartphone-tablet hybrid, the Xperia Z Ultra, has been ranged by Vodacom and MTN, head of marketing Andrew Fraser told journalists at an event held at its store in Vodacom World today (26 June 2013).

When an operator ranges a device it means, among other things, that it plans to launch a device within a certain period.

Fraser said that they expect the device to sell at a higher price than the Xperia Z and Tablet Z, but highlighted that it has much more powerful hardware than its Xperia Z cousins.

He also added that the operators will ultimately determine the price the Xperia Z Ultra is sold for.

Sony announced the Xperia Z Ultra yesterday, promising that the 6.4-inch powerhouse would launch around the world from Q3 2013.
