Vodacom plans to launch the Nokia Lumia 1020 by November 2013, a spokesperson for the network operator recently told MyBroadband.

Mobile operators usually prefer to announce their pricing closer to the launch day of a device, and in the case of the Nokia Lumia 1020, Vodacom did say that pricing information is not available at this stage.

Nokia officially unveiled the Lumia 1020 at an event in New York yesterday evening (11 July 2013), with product demonstrations focussing heavily on the capabilities of the 41-megapixel camera built into the device.

In the US, pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 1020 on the AT&T network will open on 16 July, with the device set to start shipping from 26 July 2013. It is also expected to make its way to China and “key European markets” before the end of September 2013.

Other South African network operators were also asked whether they will be carrying the Nokia Lumia 1020 and we’ll provide updates as we hear back from them.
