Twitter improves smartphone search function
Twitter has overhauled the search function for its apps on Android and iOS, allowing users to expand searches for people beyond just their names to include additional information and their profile picture, the microblogging network has announced.
This should make it easier to find friends, celebrities and acquaintances. To access the new search, users will have to upgrade their Twitter programme.
The update will also allow messages to be synchronized across devices, meaning an item read on a smartphone will be noted as such on a desktop. Until now, they would appear as unread on the one, even if read on the other.
But, to use this function, both users have to use the most up-to-date Twitter apps and programmes.
