R699 Android smartphone coming to SA

Alcatel will be bringing its One Touch Pixi to South Africa before the end of the year at a recommended retail price of R699, the company revealed at a press event on Wednesday, 30 October 2013.

It will be available through Edcon, PEP Cell, and Ackermans, Alcatel said.

The device features a 3.5″ HVGA (320×480) display, VGA camera, 1GHz processor, 256MB RAM, and runs Android 2.3 powered by a 1,300mAh battery.

According to Alcatel the device does not feature navigation, and the camera interpolates pictures to 2 megapixels in software.
