iPhone 5s, 5c pre-orders on Vodacom soon

Vodacom will let customers pre-order the iPhone 5s and 5c from midnight on 7 November 2013, the operator said in an e-mail sent to customers that “pre-registered” their interest in the device.

The text in the e-mail sent to customers was as follows:

Thank you for your interest in the all-new Apple iPhone 5s & 5c. Pre-order will be available from midnight, 7 November 2013.

Be the first to get the Apple iPhone 5s & 5c from the Best Network for Smartphones.

Asked for clarification, Vodacom explained that those who pre-registered signed up to receive further information on the device, such as the launch details and deals.

Pre-order, on the other hand, is where customers can sign up to purchase the device, Vodacom said.

Once a customer has pre-ordered one of Vodacom’s agents will contact them to vet them for the device. If they qualify, the device will be delivered to them on a set date, Vodacom said.

Pre-registrations are available through other channels as well, though MTN’s option seems to behave more like Vodacom’s “pre-order”.

According to the MTN website, customers that pre-register will be contacted by call centre staff to vet them for a contract.

“Pre-registrations” and “pre-orders” in their various incarnations for the iPhone 5s and 5c are available at the following sites:

  • Vodacom
  • MTN
  • iStore
  • Cellucity
