FireFox:streamlining the experience

Cooliris

Cooliris turns the browsing of feeds and websites into a stylish 3D experience. Certain websites, such as Facebook, have Cooliris features integrated, reinventing the way you interact with your online media.

FoxTab

Once tabbed browsing gets out of control it becomes a little difficult to remain on top of all the open pages. A little dash of 3D magic helps to solve all of life’s problems. FoxTab will render all of your open pages in six different 3D flavours.

Xmarks

Any Internet warrior worth their RSI will have more than one hunting ground. This is a bookmarking add-on that can be synchronised between multiple computers and browsers. It also has an optional feature that keeps track of passwords. The bookmark and password
information is stored externally, so don’t store your internet banking details here.

Multiple Tab Handler

Another tab management add-on; this one improves on Firefox’s default capabilities. The inability to select multiple tabs and close them, or close all other tabs not selected is a major downside to vanilla Firefox, addressed by this add-on. It also includes the ability to bookmark selected tabs and copy URLs to the clipboard.

Hide Menubar

Every pixel of screen real estate counts when browsing media rich websites. Following the example set by Vista, this add-on hides the standard menu bar which unnecessarily hogs all that room at the top of the window. It can be revealed again by pressing the ‘Alt’ key.

Flagfox

This little add-on tells you where in the world the page you are visiting is hosted. Seemingly useless, it is interesting to note how vast the web is – and who knows, it could catch on like other useless inventions, such as the scroll lock key.

Menu Editor

If after adding these and other add-ons you find the right-click context menu becoming a bit too crowded with useless features, you can customise it to your liking with the Menu Editor add-on.
