Chrome will stop Flash auto-playing certain content
From 1 September 2015, Google’s Chrome browser will intelligently pause content – like Flash animations – that isn’t central to the webpage.
Google said it has been working with Adobe to “ensure that your experience on the web can be power-efficient as well as rich and interactive”.
It added that the Chrome browser will keep central content – like a video – playing without interruption.
“If we accidentally pause something you were interested in, you can just click it to resume playback,” said Google.
Google said this update significantly reduces power consumption, allowing users to surf the web longer before having to hunt for a power outlet.
