The iPhones that can get iOS 10
Apple revealed the new version of its mobile operating system, iOS 10, at its Developer Conference on 13 June.
Among the new features announced were a new lock screen design with 3D Touch support, a big Siri update, and a universal clipboard that allows “copy and paste” to work across all Apple devices.
iOS 10 will also offer redesigned Photos, Maps, Music, and News apps, and several other improvements.
Developers received immediate access to a preview version of iOS 10, with a public beta launching in July. A free upgrade will roll out to all users “this fall” (22 September – 21 December).
The free upgrade will be available for:
- iPhone 5 and later
- All iPad Air and iPad Pro models
- iPad 4th generation
- iPad mini 2 and later
- iPod touch 6th generation
