Windows 10 gets WeChat app

WeChat has launched an app for Windows 10 desktop users, Windows Central reported.

WeChat’s basic features are supported in the app, but it is not possible to create a new WeChat account with the app.

According to the Microsoft Store listing, the app offers the following features:

  • Send text, photos, files messages and playback audio messages in chats.
  • View Sight, animated stickers and real-time location shared by friends.
  • Search articles from Official Accounts.
  • Designed for the Windows 10 Universal Platform.

Although the app is built for the Universal Windows Platform, it currently only supports x64 and x86 architectures. There is no support for mobile yet.
