Smartphone apps are dominating the Internet
Smartphone apps reached a milestone in July, accounting for over half the time Americans spend online.
According to a report by ComScore, the amount of time Americans spend online in apps has risen by 41% over the past two years.
“The smartphone app has been the most important access vehicle to the Internet for some time, growing its share to a point where it now eclipses all other digital media platforms combined,” stated the report.
“In the near term, smartphone apps are likely to grow their share of digital beyond the 50% mark, but desktop and tablets will maintain critical roles in consumers’ online consumption.”
