HTML 5.1 launching soon

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) are getting ready to launch the HTML 5.1 specification, according to a report by Softpedia.

The report also stated that work has begun on HTML 5.2.

The HTML 5.1 standard has been promoted from a “Release Candidate” to a “Proposed Recommendation”, stated the report.

This is the last step before it becomes a “W3C Recommendation” and replaces HTML 5.

Softpedia said there are several new features coming to HTML 5.1, including the < picture >, < dialog >, and the < summary > and < details > combo tags.
