Android is not merging with Chrome OS
Android and Chrome OS are not merging into a single operating system, said Google.
Google’s senior vice president for Android, Chrome, and Chromecast Hiroshi Lockheimer said rumours that a project was underway to merge the systems were untrue.
PC World reported that Lockheimer said there is “no point in merging them”.
“They’re both successful,” he said.
Lockheimer said Google will continue to share features between the two operating systems, to “make sure that both sides benefit from each other”.
