Huawei snubs Google Assistant for Amazon’s Alexa

Huawei is offering Amazon’s Alexa on its flagship Android smartphone, snubbing Google’s Assistant.

There is a battle between the large IT players in the digital assistant market, with Amazon Alexa, Apple’s Siri, and Google Assistant trying to gain market share.

“The adoption of Alexa by a prominent Android manufacturer indicates that Amazon may have opened up an early lead over Google,” Reuters reported.

“Many in the technology industry believe that such voice-powered digital assistants will supplant keyboards and touchscreens as a primary way consumers interact with devices.”

With Huawei, and other companies, opting for Alexa, Google is under pressure to get its Assistant service on new devices.
