Google releases Android Wear 2.0

Google has released its Android Wear 2.0 software for smartwatches.

Google said the new OS gives users more personalised, helpful watch faces; better ways to work out; new ways to use apps; and the Google Assistant.

The Google Assistant will allow users to ask their watch about the weather, make dinner reservations, use navigation services, and ask for help.

New ways to respond to messages were also punted by Google. This includes replying through a dictated, typed, or “handwritten” response.

Apps which support the response options include Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, and Telegram.

“Android Wear 2.0 will be available for all supported watches in the coming weeks,” said Google.
