Linux Kernel 4.10 released
Linux Kernel 4.10 has been released, with improvements for virtual GPU support and better writeback management.
“This release adds support for virtualised GPUs and a new “perf c2c” tool for cache line contention analysis in NUMA systems,” said Linux Kernel Newbies.
A new “perf sched timehist” command was added for a detailed history of task scheduling, and improved writeback management that should make the system more responsive under heavy writing load.
There is also a new hybrid block polling method that uses less CPU than pure polling, and support for ARM devices such as the Nexus 5 and 6 or Allwinner A64.
The community further added a feature that allows support for Intel Cache Allocation Technology.
