Microsoft testing AI search for photos

Microsoft is testing an AI image search function in its Photos app, according to a report by Engadget.

The report stated that the latest Insider Preview version of the app has a search bar which lets users type in object names to find relevant photos.

Google Photos and Apple Photos have similar functionality, added Engadget.

The Microsoft system will use a cloud-based image recognition algorithm to interpret the search term and identify photos which match it.

Microsoft Photos will also create suggested albums to keep photos taken “around the same place and time” together.
