The most popular programming languages in the world
Java, C, and C++ remain the most popular programming languages in the world, according to the Tiobe Index for September 2017.
The index stated that while the top three languages have not changed in the past 15 years, the gap to languages like Python and C# is closing.
“The general trend is that the pack is getting bigger. Applications that are written in a single programming language are getting rarer nowadays,” stated the report.
The PYPL ranking for September 2017 also showed Java at the top, with Python and PHP taking second and third respectively.
