Samsung acquires AI company to improve Bixby

Samsung has bought South Korean startup Fluenty, reports TechCrunch.

This follows the company’s acquisition of Viv, a company working on an AI-powered digital assistant.

Fluenty’s smartphone app launched in 2015, and allowed users to send automated text replies on third-party messaging apps.

The app uses an AI-powered chatbot to determine the best responses to messages and could be used by Samsung to expand Bixby’s services.

The Fluenty app has been removed from the Google Play Store following the acquisition.
