Microsoft’s latest “Patch Tuesday” for Windows has been called “quite a fiasco”.
Softpedia News stated that the software updates for Windows have resulted in several user issues.
“After Windows 10 cumulative updates KB4088787 and KB4088776 showed signs of failed installs, it’s now the turn of the Windows 7 monthly rollup to cause problems,” stated the report.
The issues reported – after installing KB4088875 and the security-only update KB4088878 – included:
- Break down of virtual Network Interface Cards.
- Creation of ghost NICs on certain systems.
Microsoft stated it is aware of several issues regarding the Windows 7 updates, including a “blue screen of death” occurring when an update is installed on a 32-bit system.
Microsoft said it is working on fixing this issue.
