Windows 10 Insider Preview build gets SwiftKey

Microsoft has announced a new Insider Preview build (17692) for Windows 10, which includes the SwiftKey touch keyboard and several improvements.

SwiftKey is a touch keyboard with gesture support that is popular on Android and iOS smartphones.

It learns your writing style, including the words, phrases, and emoji that you often use.

With its latest Insider build, SwiftKey will power the touchscreen typing experience on Windows for English (UK and US), French, German, and several other languages.

The company also announced that Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 will allow you to block media from autoplaying.

Other new features included in the build are:

  • Accessibility option to make everything on the screen bigger.
  • Improvements to Narrator for screen reader users.
  • Game Bar improvements, including changing the default audio device, adjusting the volume of running apps, and performance visualisations.
  • Mixed reality improvements to allow you to send audio to your speakers and headset, and new error codes in the Mixed Reality Portal.
