Google adds in-app music support to Maps

Google is rolling out a number of new features to its Maps navigation app, including the ability to access music playback controls from in the app.

The latest update is focused on commuters and includes a number of tools aimed at removing the stress from your commute.

Maps now includes a new “Commute” tab, which allows you to access traffic information about your regular trips. Android users will also receive delay notifications as they happen.

Additionally, transit riders in 80 regions will now be able to see where their bus or train is in real-time in Google Maps.

Lastly, Google is making Spotify, Apple Music, and Google Play Music available in the Google Maps app, allowing you to control your music playback without exiting the application.

The new Google Maps features roll out for Android and iOS this week.
