PC gamers are eagerly adopting Windows 10

Gamers on Steam are adopting Windows 10 at a rapid pace, according to the company’s Hardware and Software Survey for June 2019.

Windows 10 is the most popular PC operating system in the world, and despite the slow uptake of the software by the general public, gamers are quickly moving over to the newest version of Microsoft’s operating system.

While the market share of Windows 10 increased by only 0.06% over the last month, the operating system’s adoption on Steam by grew by more than 3% over the same period.

Almost 71% of PC gamers on Steam are now using Windows 10, with the market share of Windows 7 among gamers decreasing by 2.09% in June 2019.

The number of Steam users with Linux and macOS installed also declined over the last month, showing that Windows 10 remains the most popular platform among gamers by a wide margin.
