PostgresConf South Africa 2019 here next week

PostgresConf South Africa 2019, which forms part of the international PostgreSQL conference series, will take place from 8-9 October at The Wanderers Club in Johannesburg.

The conference will include 19 presentations and three workshops featuring local and international speakers.

The event will focus on new developments in PostgreSQL and cover the fundamentals for those new to Postgres or considering migrating from another database.

This year’s talks include a wide range of topics covering performance tuning, auditing, vacuuming, control structures, and security.

The three PostgreSQL workshops at the event are:

1. A tutorial on PostGIS, the popular geospatial extension to PostgreSQL.
2. Finding and fixing slow queries.
3. An introduction to security within PostgreSQL.
