Windows OS gains market share
Microsoft’s desktops operating system, Windows, is the only major platform to show growth between October and November, according to a reports by advertising network, Chitika.
The company used impressions served to desktop and mobile platforms to calculate market share of various operating systems.
They found that the Windows OS gained 1.4 percent to climb to 76.45 percent of overall market share – the only system to gain over the period.
Apple’s Mac OS maintained the second position in the market; however, it did drop by 0.35 percent to 9.33 percent.
Android remained in fourth position despite being the bigger loser in November, losing 0.58 percent of market share to settle at 3.93 percent.
Chikita also noted that this was the first time Android’s share declined in several months, though it anticipates a rebound in December.
