Is technology making your world better?

Personal technology

Microsoft’s second annual survey of Internet users around the world shows that people think personal technology is making the world a better place.

The personal technology survey was conducted online between 17 December 2014 and 1 January 2015 by the global consultancy Penn Schoen Berland.

The survey involved five developed countries – USA, France, Germany, Japan, and South Korea – and seven developing countries – Brazil, India, Russia, China, Turkey, South Africa, and Indonesia.

Most of the people surveyed said technology had vastly improved how they shopped, worked, learnt, and generally got stuff done.

However, it is not all positive. Many people expressed concern about the impact of technology on their privacy.

The following chart summarises the results of the Microsoft personal technology survey.
