Crowdfunding website for SA students in need

A website claiming to help crowd-fund students was launched this week.
“Amidst the ‘Fees Must Fall’ crisis”‚ Emmanuel Luthuli said bursarynetwork.com is an “online platform that will enable anyone to donate from as little as R100 to any student you believe in”.
Luthuli said signing on as “a possible donor” is “free and no obligations”.
“Singing (sic) up will enable you to view student profiles‚ video pitches and communicate with the student‚” Luthuli said.
“We just launched the website yesterday (November 11) and I hope you sign-up and use this alternative avenue to assist genuine students in need.
“Most of the students on the platform are from Wits.”
On Friday morning‚ the website boasted “14 Registered Donors‚ R5423 Successfully Raised‚ and 0 Students Funded”.
